Obama, ACORN, And The Mortgage Crisis

Community organizer. The term sounds so benign, but the reality is that some “community organizers” are pit bulls that wreaked havoc on the economy of the United States. How does Barack Obama fit into this model?

According to Stanley Kurtz, a Senior Fellow at the Ethics in Public Policy Center, Obama’s community organizing days in Chicago involved dealing with the radical group ACORN, specifically training its staff in the Chicago area in bullying tactics that are fast becoming legend. Thanks to the Community Redevelopment Act, groups like ACORN were essentially given free reign to bully and intimidate lenders into giving loans to people that couldn’t possibly afford them.

The problem didn’t stop there. Lenders sold these bad note to Fannie Mae and eventually, these notes were coverted into mortgage backed securities, that of course ended up in default.

Obama, who in the past has lavished praise on both ACORN and Franklin Raines, has his bloody hand in this mess, and now has the gall to act like an innocent bystander telling Congress they must “step up to the plate” and get this bailout done. Change we can believe in…

On a side note, I hear McCain is running Spanish language ads accusing Obama of crippling immigration reform. My god, after all that’s just happened, this clown is still talking about blowing the borders open. Incredible.

  1. Straight talk. We don’t get enough of it! This is a great blog.

I like it that you “call it like you see it,” whether it’s Obama or McCain. Too many writers are tough on one side but turn into apologists when they write about the other side.

  5. [...] Obama has tapped his good buddies at ACORN to help with the census. Yes, you heard that right. The radical minions of Obama have agreed to swallow for him again, this time coming up with census numbers that will determine what kind of funding for state and federal programs will be proprosed. Yeah, ACORN is going to reroute our money the only way they know how. [...]
